ALGAE DRESS

2024 - Ongoing
Prototype exhibited at SOCA Gallery, University of Windsor, Feb 2026
37 University Avenue East, Windsor, ON

Algae Dress is a prototype and iterative sculpture, installation, and performance object that integrates fashion and costume design with the cultivation of live spirulina algae cultures, and painted works with dried algae pigment, and video/multimedia content. This installation evokes a larger than life humanoid/algae figure. A work of science fiction or magical realism, Algae Dress invites us to consider algae’s numerous roles in our terrestrial ecology, and possible visions of biotech algae futures.
