Peek A Boo Petri

On My 4th, 2022, the University of Windsor's Alumni Association hosted an exclusive Peek-A-Boo Petri event in collaboration with the INCUBATOR Art Lab. The UWindsor Alumni Board and Committee members, community partners, supporters, and UWindsor Alumni were invited to preview the new INCUBATOR Art Lab Studio space. Guests were invited to meet Canada Research Chair Dr. Jennifer Willet and her team of undergraduate, graduate and alumni researchers and enjoy our new community development space.

 
 
 
 

During the event, guests viewed work by Dr Willet, and a sneak-peek of future works in progress. The event featured ongoing projects by UWindsor School of Creative Art MFA BioArt students Nathalie Dubois Calero, Lyndsay McKay and Nate Talbot, accompanied by the sounds of the UWindsor music student Preston Adams on the xylophone.

The evening included remarks by Ken Alexander and the President of the University of Windsor, Dr. Robert Gordon, who welcomed all into the new space. UWindsor's Executive Chef Paolo Vasapolli lighted us with a menu full of beautifully decorated BioArt-inspired dishes while a team member Angela Awada demonstrated a Bioprinting session with the ‘Greenhouse Lab.’ In closing, Dr Jennifer Willet spoke about her team, the biotechnology research they are conducting, and remarks about INCUBATOR Art Lab as a community space and a new visual landmark in the downtown hub of Windsor.
