On Wednesday, June 26, 2025, the FEMeeting: Women in Art, Science, and Technology hosted a video screening event titled "Tendrils," curated by Mireille Bourgeois of the IOTA Institute. The event was held at the Multimedia Studio in the Alan Wilderman Building in Windsor, Ontario, and was open to the public. It showcased a verity of video works created by female artists from around the world.
The screening featured various artists and their video works, including Cri Kosti, whose piece "On Remembering Our Connections" explores the relationship between people and their environments. Julie Paama-Pengelly highlights Māori skin marking traditions in their documentary titled "Skinginenous." Zorica Markovich reflects on the fragility of the Arctic in "The Views at the End of the Earth," while Domenica Mediati invites viewers to contemplate our connection with nature in "Biophobia."
Additionally, Jacklyn Brickman, Kelsey Paschich, and Kevin Abbott presented a multimedia performance called "Frozen Fields: Unexpected Growth," which examines resilience. Iryna's video "I'm Paving the Way" documents her experience of isolation during the spring of 2022. Lastly, Tal Yizrael and Sharona Florsheim showcased the video "Fragile Formation," a live experiment that explores spontaneous self-assembly and the interaction between human movement and glass spheres through a performative installation.
